James Gourlay

James Gourlay is the Chief Technology Officer and Technical Director at DesignLED, a technology company specializing in LED light-guide solutions for automotive applications. Previously, he worked with OLED for display applications. He was a university academic in the field of optoelectronics and optics, has researched in optoelectronics, optical interconnects, astronomical optics, adaptive optics, liquid crystal devices and displays and computer-generated holography. James founded DesignLED to deliver products with OLED-like appearance, but made with inorganic LEDs and their attractive cost and performance. He has a PhD in Physics, 64 granted patents and over 40 published scientific and technical articles.
